Dear Band Family,
Hope everyone is re-energized by a long weekend break. School Schedule started and the practice time changed from this week. It is after school 3:30pm – 6:30 pm. If you are coming from different school the athlete bus will drop the kids to WBHS.
We are running a fundraiser through Snap-raise. This fundraiser involves emailing potential donors and asking for donations. The funds from this are going towards uniforms and percussion equipment. As always, we cannot force families to participate. However, we are asking for high levels of participation. If you received an email or text from your child today, it was for this fundraiser. Students who obtain certain levels of donations can earn prizes such as Nike t-shirts, athletic gear, and backpacks.
Questions can be directed to me regarding this fundraiser at firstname.lastname@example.org

MARCHING BAND PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT
Click this link to download a copy of our Parent Code of Conduct. Developed in conjunction with the Athletic department and supported by Principal Pat Watson, it is required that all parents/or legal guardians of Marching Band 2016 members (including Color Guard and Percussion) review, sign and turn in the attached form before their children begin summer rehearsals. All the band member’s parents are required to sign. Please be advised that if only one parent signs, the rules and guidelines still will apply to all parents as if all parents signed the document.
From Scrips Publicity coordinator Marci Grossman:
We’ve had a decent amount of scrip purchases so far for June, and the month isn’t over yet.
Some numbers I want to share are the year to date amounts. We have so far had over $25,000 in scrip purchases since January 1, 2016, and have raised almost $1400 dollars for the band and student accounts. The band needs every penny, and I love it when I make a payment for aband related item and I didn’t have to spend a dime to do it. A Win/Win situation. The fundraisers don’t get any easier than buying and using scrip.
All fundraisers are important, and everyone has their own preference for how to participate, but scrip is my favorite. I get to participate on my own schedule (no shifts to deal with), get a personal benefit (student account) from participating, and I’m thrilled to offer it to friends and family (it’s a very easy sale).
Every purchase brings a rebate, and 60% goes to the to student’s points account, while 40% goes toward instruments, sectional instruction, music program scholarships, equipment purchase, and other initiatives supported by the Band Boosters. Go to wbbands.info/fundraising/scrip-program/ and order SCRIP (gift cards). The rewards for every purchase add up! And the more people who participate, the faster the rewards grow. Questions about how it works? Please contact Marci Grossman. Of course, if you don’t want to buy scrip, you can always just make a donation to the band. The benefits of being a 501(c)3: A donation is tax deductible.
