Hello West Bloomfield Band families!
Congratulations to West Bloomfield Percussion for placing first at MCGC Milford on Saturday with an amazing performance of their show “Into the Canvas!” Also on Saturday, the West Bloomfield Winter Winds group performed their show “Eyes Turned Skyward” and earned first place! Great job!
Varsity Guard is hard at work preparing to perform their show “Tomber Amoureaux: To Fall in Love” at the upcoming WGI Regional in Flint this coming Saturday! Good luck!
MSBOA Festival is coming up this week for our middle and high school bands! See the Curricular Band Update below for performance dates/times. Questions regarding exact report times and concert attire should be directed to your student’s band teacher.
Marching Band 2017 Enrollment is coming soon! We are so excited about the 2017 season! New uniforms, new band camp, new summer schedule! Check your e-mail for news and information. We are piloting online registration this year and are planning on opening up registration starting on Wednesday March 15. There will be discounts for early enrollment and also incentives for student-to-student recruitment. Paper registration forms will also be available. More information will be shared at our Parent Meeting on Tuesday March 7 in the iCenter at WBHS! (agenda is attached)
Spring Swing II Volunteer Meeting on March 9 Spring Swing II is coming up on Friday May 5! Chairperson Anne Marie Collier-Miller will be holding a volunteer meeting on Thursday March 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Abbott Middle School. She is requesting volunteers in the following areas: decorating; requesting appetizer donations from local restaurants; and collecting items for the silent auction. School Bond Election coming up on May 2! This election is an opportunity for West Bloomfield School District to invest $120 million in updates, renovation and construction throughout the entire district, with a half-mill reduction in the school tax rate. The West Bloomfield Bands will stand to benefit from this election in the form of the addition of an auxiliary gym at WBHS, remodeling of the auditorium and fine arts spaces including additional storage near the WBHS band room, and new musical instruments and equipment for grades K-12. For more information, please visit the Bond Election page on the WBSD website. Information on the bond election will be provided on our website, social media and at parent meetings.

Winter Ensembles – Percussion, Guard and Winds:
THANK YOU to the parents who stepped up to volunteer at MCGC State Finals! We needed 8 volunteers (2 from each of our Winter performing ensembles) and got 14 responses!! We have amazing parents!

Winter Winds: Thank you to our parents who volunteered at the Milford show! Our kids did an amazing job and your support means the world to them! For those who ordered show shirts, they are on order and should arrive by early next week.
