Running a program as large as the West Bloomfield Band Program takes time, effort and commitment from a large number of individuals. The purpose of the Band Boosters Association of West Bloomfield (BBAWB) is to act as a support group for the entire band program. This includes the High School Programs (Concert Band, Symphony Band, Symphonic Winds, Jazz Band, Winter Percussion, Winter Guard and Marching Band) as well as the Middle School Bands at both Abbott Middle School and Orchard Lake Middle School and Middle School Percussion.
When your student is part of any of the West Bloomfield bands, you are automatically a Member of the BBAWB. There is no fee, no dues and no secret handshake – just an open invitation for you to participate and help out in the support of the programs whenever you can.
The Band Boosters Association of West Bloomfield is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and was formed to provide moral and financial support to all the bands of the High School and both Middle Schools. All parents of band students are members of the BBAWB. The BBAWB is made up of 100% volunteers. There are monthly board meetings and monthly parent meetings.
The Boosters, in cooperation with the band students, sponsor numerous fund raising events each year, some of which include Tag Day, Invitationals, SCRIP program, etc. The money from these activities provide for the following:
As they say, “many hands, make light work” and this is very true of our booster group. The more involvement we have from parents and supporters, the easier it is for everyone AND the more benefit there is to our programs through the efficiency of what we are able to do. Please consider at least a small contribution of time to help in some way. There is always something you can do that will fit the capabilities and time that you have available.
We need all parents to get involved. Volunteer online today! (coming soon)
