This Saturday, September 13 is Field Day. This is our first opportunity to perform before Michigan Competing Band Association (MCBA) judges. Six other bands will travel from their home districts to participate. As hosts, it is customary for the WBHS Marching Band to perform last. Here is the schedule for the day:

1:30-3pm – Rehearsal in Stadium.

3:30-Field Day begins – guest bands perform at half-hour intervals

5:10-Warm up begins for WBHS Band – in full uniform.

6:30-Take the Field and Perform “Rise and Fall” BE THERE! YOU WON”T BELIEVE OUR PROGRESS!

7:00-End of Field Day

Section Leaders will perform our National Anthem at the beginning of the show.

Field Day is the best opportunity students will have all year to watch other bands and see how other shows are put together. You are encouraged to watch bands from 3:30-5:10. But please remember, students will need to change into full uniforms in time to make warm up at 5:10. No meals will be provided during the day. Concessions will be available with a limited selection. Students will not be supervised by staff between 3pm and 5:10pm but ALWAYS must follow the student code of conduct and display the attitudes and behaviors appropriate to representatives of our schools, our district, and our community.

Parents, your volunteering to staff this event is truly appreciated. We could not showcase West Bloomfield in this way without your help.   Hosting events like this brings revenue we use to keep your band fees as low as possible. If you have not received your assignment and report time, please email event chair Ruth Richards at richardsbandmom@gmail.com.
