Director of Bands, West Bloomfield High School
It is with great excitement and pleasure that I introduce myself as the Director of Bands at West Bloomfield High School.
My name is Jesse Sacks. I grew up in Lincolnwood, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. I graduated from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater, and Dance with a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education and a concentration in trumpet. I am currently working toward my master’s degree in Music Education at Ithaca College in upstate New York.
I had the privilege to serve as the interim Director of Bands at West Bloomfield High School since February 2020 and will now continue in the role in an official capacity . Prior to my role at West Bloomfield High School, I worked as a general music teacher and high school band director at a school district near Ludington, Michigan. During my time in Ludington, I also served as an assistant coach for the Ludington High School boys’ junior varsity tennis team and played principal trumpet in the West Shore Community Band.
In my free time, I enjoy playing and coaching tennis, watching Michigan sports (Go Blue!), playing and listening to music, and juggling.
Thank you so much for your continued interest in music education. I think we will have a robust and exhilarating year of music performance, learning, and camaraderie in the band program, and I am honored to share the journey with all of you. Please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns.
