CHARMS OFFICE ASSISTANT
The West Bloomfield Bands program is in the process of implementing a new online band management system called “Charms Office Assistant”. Some of the features include:
- track student and parent information (email, addresses, phone numbers, groups, chaperones, etc)
- organize our music library
- keep track of inventory, props, uniforms
- seating charts
- online payment
- and much more!
We need your help! Many of you received a “Charms” flyer that came home with your band student which listed out the instructions on how to access CHARMS. If you have not seen this flyer, please ask your child (it might be in the bottom of his/her backpack). If they did not receive one, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will see that you receive one. If your child is in Mrs. Trotter’s OLMS 6th grade band class or Mr. Beddow’s Abbott 6th grade band class, please be patient, your flyers should be coming soon. Once you log into CHARMS, please update your child’s information (especially email addresses and phone numbers) to help our band directors communicate with you more effectively. CHARMS can always be easily accessed from the front page of our website at: wbbands.info (click on the blue rectangle about 1/2 way down the page. To those of you have updated your information, thank you so much!
*Orders for Show shirts are due Mon January 28th. Click HERE to print an order form. Please email Mary Johnston – email@example.com.
*Regular week of rehearsal this week. January 29-31 from 5-8 at Abbott Middle School.
*Rehearsal on Saturday, February 2 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Bring a lunch or make plans to have a lunch delivered.
*Two drumline payments should have been made by this point. If you are not up to date, please send in a check ASAP. Send payment to Mary Ingweiller, 2019 Maddy Lane, Keego Harbor, MI 48320. Make the check out to BBAWB.
*The drumline has the first and second movements on the floor. The first show is a WGI Regional at Troy on February 9th. Make plans to come out and support! Click HEREfor more information.
*Reminder there will be no busing to drumline events, kids must find rides to and from competitions. They must also provide their own lunches.
*Parents are welcome to stop in early to check the progress of the drumline.

HIGH SCHOOL SOLO & ENSEMBLE
MSBOA High school Solo and Ensemble takes place this Friday (2/1) & Saturday (2/2) at Hartland High School (about a 45 min drive). Please check the Solo & Ensemble schedule posted on the white board in the band room to confirm your performance time and room. Click HERE for directions and building maps.
WINTER COLOR GUARD
Color Guard practice this week Mon Jan 28th and Wed Jan 30th @ Roosevelt, 6pm – 7:30pm
*Volunteers are needed for the WBHS Winter Invitational featuring Color Guard (including our own Winter Color Guard) and Winter Drumline groups from around the state. We are in need of helpers in concessions, admissions, parking lot, and band guides. MCGC does allow students to be band guides for the winter invitational, so students are welcome!
