Dear Band Families,

What a great performance at Lakeland High School on Saturday! Thanks to all the parents who volunteered to help move the props during the practices and performances and also who donated food to feed the hungry band. Thank you to all the parents who participated in the Trunk or Treat for the kids, who were pleasantly surprised!  Everything came together that resulted in tremendous success. THANK YOU to all the students coping with the tight schedule and school work. We are very proud of you all. You all did a wonderful job!!!

Now we are venturing into the week of State Finals! Let’s plan, prepare and deliver another flawless execution! GO WB Band!!

Paper Plate Awards: During the week leading up to State Finals, parents are welcome and encouraged to post fun and inspirational paper plates on the walls of the band room for their students and their friends, sections, staff, etc! Let’s cover the walls of the band room!

We’re coming down the stretch for marching season and need to get everyone caught up on their overdue fees. Charms is up to date, so please check your balances and submit payments this week. Monday, November 14                All day (10am – 10pm) SmashBurger fundraiser at 6919 Orchard Lake Road



Every band student (except 6th graders) is responsible for selling 5 raffle tickets. An envelope with 5 raffle tickets was sent home with each marching band student on Saturday. Tickets will also be distributed during band classes.  The drawing will be held at the Winter Concert on December 8.  We need to sell 400 tickets in order to award the grand prize of $1,000, otherwise it will be a 50/50 drawing.  Contact Chris Long if you want more tickets  (more information here )

SmashBurger Fundraiser:

Our next restaurant fundraiser will be at SmashBurger at 6919 Orchard Lake Road on Monday November 14! The fundraiser will run all day.  Please bring in the flyer (attached) and 10% of your order will be donated to BBAWB!

Also, there are scrip cards available for SmashBurger!  The rebate is 10%.  Benefit the band even more, and your student account (60% of the rebate goes to your student account; 40% goes to the band).  Please contact our scrip coordinator, Marguerite DeBello at for information on ordering this or any other scrip!

Yankee Candle:

Yankee Candles will be available for online sales only.  A link for ordering will be live soon.

Returnable Containers:

We have the big returnable containers placed around the school; please bring your returnables to band or drop it off in these containers any time. A Sign-Up Genius is coming soon, as we are looking for students to empty the containers and return the cans and bottles to the store.  The proceeds will be split 50/50 between the student’s account and BBAWB.
