*Attention all section leaders and drum majors – You get one free quarter page ad to recognize your section. Please, I would love all sections recognized. Drum majors get a half page to recognize the band. Email me the address or to have me help you at email@example.com.
UNIFORM FITTINGS & DINKLES
Help is needed fitting marching band uniforms
Parents – Help is needed Tuesday from 7:30-9 pm. Please help even if you have no sewing experience as we could use assistance with organizing, forms, and labeling.
Help is also needed Saturday, September 8th at Field day. We need help with handing out Shakos, gauntlets and gloves. Please come to the band room about an hour before the band’s warm up time to help. Thank you in advance!!
DINKLES – Students should have Dinkles ASAP. These are part of the uniform.
You have the opportunity to purchase your own Dinkles (marching shoes) this year. There will not be a group order. Whether you are a new student or a vet who needs replacements, order DInkles 707 Vanguard shoes in black. Do not buy other styles, brands or colors. Make sure you order in time to receive them by the first home football game. Here are three suggested websites for ordering but as long as you stick to the Dinkles style 707 Vanguard in black you can buy from anywhere. Check out these sites:
SEPTEMBER PARENT MEETING
Our next parent meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 4th at 7pm in the high school I-Center. Discussions will include: new committee chairs for those not already set, and the transition to parents with younger children in the program.
CLASSROOM HELP NEEDED
Parents – Mr. Dyer is in need of a few helpers on Tuesday & Wednesday during school. He will need parents to assist with class instrument inventory & instrument locker assignments. Help is needed on Tuesday at the High School from 7:00am-8:45am and then at OLMS the rest of the day. The Wednesday schedule depends on what gets done on Tuesday, but help will probably be needed Wednesday as well. You will be shown what to do once you get to the school.
Any amount of time is greatly appreciated! Please email Bree at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help. Many thanks!
The first school year rehearsal is this Tuesday, September 4th. Rehearsals will now be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm-8:30pm and Fridays from 3:30pm-6:30pm.
Students that need to stay after school until rehearsal can plan on going to the band room for study time. Mr. Dyer will remain after school so that students can stay. Many families were concerned about getting students back to school. Staying at school is now an option. Those students must stay in the band room. Students are not allowed to roam the building. All studying and eating must happen in the band room. A GIANT thanks to Mr. Dyer!

Our first home football game is this Friday, September 7th
Football Friday Pizza: Please send $5 with your student Friday for pizza, which will be ordered between the end of practice and the game. Remember, students will eat BEFORE they dress for the game. Reminders will be sent out again later this week.

NEW SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
As we move into a new season, the BBAWB board has decided to revamp the T-shirt/program ads in the hope of attracting more sponsorship participation. Attached to this newsletter is the new direction with a new name, “Corporate/Community Sponsorship levels.”
There are seven levels of participation ranging from $50-$2,500+ — Piano, Crescendo, Mezzo-piano, Mezzo-forte, Forte, Fortissimo and Fortississimo — with different incentives.
Incentives for the student remain the same — a 50-50 split between the student and band — except for the $2,000-$2,500+ levels. Any sponsorship package sold at the $2,000-and-above level will be capped at $750 for the student with the remainder going into the general band fundraising coffer.
