West Bloomfield Bands Newsletter – Week of November 3, 2013
To all non-marching band families: Welcome to our weekly newsletter that is emailed out every Sunday afternoon/evening! Now that marching band season is winding down, we are including you in the distribution list so we can keep you updated on all the band events happening in our school district. Please take some time to read the newsletter, as it will most likely answer many of your questions as we continue the 2013-2014 school year.
To all parents: We encourage you to get involved with your student’s journey in this program by volunteering with our Band Boosters. By having a student in one of our band programs: Concert Bands, Marching Band, Winter Drumline and Color/Winter Guard, you are automatically a member of the Band Boosters Association of West Bloomfield (BBAWB). Welcome to our family!

Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 1. This is the date of our Winter Guard/Winter Drumline Invitational. We will need all of you to volunteer as this is expected to be a very well attended event.
There are many areas in the band program that could not function without the hard work and dedication of our parent volunteers. Take a minute to look over the groups below and see what you would like to do. Please feel free to choose more than one area. Email Mary Ingweiller or Heide Dronchi to sign up today!
Silent Auction Committee: Tasks include finding donations, setting them up and creating auction sheets. Our Silent Auction takes place at our Annual Spaghetti Dinner in March.
Merchandising Committee: We are looking for a team of parents to promote our online store at concerts and and some Parent Meetings. These people would also be responsible for selling a few items that are not on our online store such as: luggage tags, stickers, magnets and headbands. You would also be responsible for monitoring our online store (which pretty much runs itself!) The concert dates are: 12/19/13, 36/14 and 5/13/14. Time involvement is very minimal. You must be available for concerts and a few parent meetings as well as order more merchandise when the inventory runs low.
Trailer Ads: We are looking for 1 or 2 people to be in charge of talking to businesses about advertising on our semi-truck. Click HERE for more information
Our LATE SESSION needs volunteers! We are running a 2nd session of BINGO every Friday beginning at 10:30pm every Friday night!! This is in addition to our regular 6:15pm session. We need volunteers! Add $30/week to your student’s band account and volunteer today!. Signups are available at wbbands.info/bingo.
We are looking to add a few more corporate sponsors to purchase a trailer ad on the side of our semi trailer. Please contact John Boruta at email@example.com if you are interested in purchasing one, know of a business that is interested or are able to help go to businesses, and ask them to purchase an ad. All corporate sponsors will get an ad on both sides of the trailer, advertising on our website and advertising in our concert band programs. Click HERE for more information.
Now is the time to order sweatshirts and jackets and accessories for the upcoming holiday season! Show your Laker Pride! Go to wbbands.info/band-merchandise today! A portion of every sale goes to West Bloomfield Bands.
Go to wbbands.info/fundraising/scrip-program/ and order SCRIP (gift cards). By doing so, you make money for the band and for your student’s account!
If you are on Facebook please join the “Official West Bloomfield High School Marching Band Page” as we post pictures and videos often there (this is a “private group”). We also use it as a communication tool.
