The Marching Band Banquet will be held on Sunday, November 24, 6pm at Glen Oaks Country Club on 13 Mile Rd in Farmington Hills. The invitations have been distributed. If you did not receive an invitation, please contact Christy Forhan at 248-363-8836. All RSVPs need to be turned into the band mailbox by Wednesday, November 13.
Winter Drumline auditions will be held next month! Stay tuned for specific dates/times.
Please note that WGI World Championships are during Spring Break this year (April 10, 11, 12). Please do not plan anything that week as we will have rehearsals on the days leading up to championships.
Save the date! Jazz Band auditions will be held Monday, November 25 and Tuesday, November 26 from 3:15pm – 3:30pm. Auditions are open to the whole school. Students should stop by Mr. Mielens’ office and pick up the audition packets and sign for a time during the week before. Rehearsals will be twice a week on Monday and Wednesday from 2:30-4:00, starting on Wednesday December 4th.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 1. This is the date of our Winter Guard/Winter Drumline Invitational. We will need all of you to volunteer as this is expected to be a very well attended event.
There are many areas in the band program that could not function without the hard work and dedication of our parent volunteers. Take a minute to look over the groups below and see what you would like to do. Please feel free to choose more than one area. Email Mary Ingweiller or Heide Dronchi to sign up today!
Silent Auction Chairperson(s): Tasks include finding donations, setting them up and creating auction sheets. Our Silent Auction takes place at our Annual Spaghetti Dinner in March.
Merchandising Chairperson: We are looking for someone to promote our online store at concerts and and some Parent Meetings. This person would also be responsible for selling a few items that are not on our online store such as: luggage tags, stickers, magnets and headbands. You would also be responsible for monitoring our online store (which pretty much runs itself!) The concert dates are: 12/19/13, 36/14 and 5/13/14. Time involvement is very minimal. You must be available for concerts and a few parent meetings as well as order more merchandise when the inventory runs low.
Trailer Ad Coordinator: We are looking for 1 or 2 people to be in charge of talking to businesses about advertising on our semi-truck. Click HERE for more information
Our LATE SESSION needs volunteers! We are running a 2nd session of BINGO every Friday beginning at 10:30pm every Friday night!! This is in addition to our regular 6:15pm session. We need volunteers! Add $30/week to your student’s band account and volunteer today!. Signups are available at wbbands.info/bingo.
We are looking to add a few more corporate sponsors to purchase a trailer ad on the side of our semi trailer. Please contact John Boruta at email@example.com if you are interested in purchasing one, know of a business that is interested or are able to help go to businesses, and ask them to purchase an ad. All corporate sponsors will get an ad on both sides of the trailer, advertising on our website and advertising in our concert band programs. Click HERE for more information.
Now is the time to order sweatshirts and jackets and accessories for the upcoming holiday season! Show your Lake Pride! Go to wbbands.info/band-merchandise today! A portion of every sale goes to West Bloomfield Bands.
Go to wbbands.info/fundraising/scrip-program/ and order SCRIP (gift cards). By doing so, you make money for the band and for your student’s account!
